Are You Ready For Fall? We Are!

Fall is here and we have a few tips to help you prepare your home's plumbing for the change in weather.

First, drain your hot water heater: This is especially necessary if you happen to live in an area that uses hard water. When your hot water heater isn't drained enough, extra amounts of sediments could build up in the tank, and rust could begin to develop in the tank.

Autumn is the best time to drain your hot water heater. If you find that your hot water heater is too old or is rusty, you should probably consider getting a new one. You don't want to go throughout winter taking cold showers. Tankless water heaters are also an option to consider.

Second, Disconnect water hoses: Gone are the days when you used to go outside to fill up the pool or wash your car thanks to your trusty water hose. Well, now is the time to disconnect your beloved water hose and put it away until springtime. If you leave your outdoor hose connected to the faucet, the water that's still left in the hose can freeze and expand during the fall and winter months, which can cause your faucets and the connecting pipes inside your home to freeze. Not only will you be hindered from your future summer outdoor activities in the coming year, but you will also have to foot a hefty repair bill if you neglect to disconnect the hose.

Third, Give us a call! We are more than willing to inspect and certify your home's readiness. Our professionals are standing by. We're ready for Fall, are you?

Rpz/Backflow Installation, Repair, Replacement And Certification.

Are you in need of RPZ/Backflow device testing, certification, repair, installation? Are you in need of an explanation of what that even means? Great. We can help with both!

What Does RPZ Stand For?

RPZ stands for Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventer and is installed on various plumbing systems to protect your drinking water and the city water supply from contaminates.
An RPZ is a specific type of backflow prevention device utilized when a higher level of protection is needed. Even small fluctuations in city water mains can cause drops in pressure large enough to allow contaminants from a non-potable system to backflow into the potable drinking water supply--Not good.

RPZ/Backflow device testing, certification, repair and installation for sprinkler systems are one of our many certified specialties. Proper drainage and irrigation is essential to preserving the structural integrity of your property. Call our experts at Aqua Tech Plumbing today.
